M.I.A.

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted. Many things have changed in my life.  Just as the seasons come and go so do the issues of everyday life.  Family, work, health, relationships, finances, etc.  Things you can’t ignore yet somehow you must face each day, one at a time.  Every day that I live and through every circumstance I see the importance of keeping God first.  He is what gets us through, who helps us along the way, which encourages us when we can’t; who holds us in the palm of His hands and loves us no matter what.

A wise man once told me that God will always work out everything for our good as he quoted the scripture, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28.  No matter what challenges he faced he always said “Come hell or high water, we will not give in, we’re going to make it and the Lord will see us through”.  The funny thing is the Lord always did.  He had such great faith, even when he didn’t know how things would work out; he knew God would work things out for his good.  That wise man was my dad who passed away as a result of a carjacking almost 5 years ago.

I look back and think of everything he faced in life.  No matter what happened he always trusted God in everything.  He always believed somehow God would work things out for his good.  Even on his death bed he cried out “Oh God you are my God!” He believed until the end God was somehow going to work things out and his love for Him was so great despite his tragic accident.  As I reflect on his life and his words I’m reminded how good God is, that no matter what happens or what I face God is faithful and He will see me through and I will make it despite my circumstances because I love God and am called according to His purpose.
